Printroom "Flash" Storefronts Now Accessible Through i-Phones |
|
November 1, 2011 Special to Photoconia Printroom "flash" storefronts are now accessible through iPhones, iPad, and other MacIntosh "i" products. Printroom's "flash" storefronts are now a combination of HTML and JavaScript and are supported by all platforms that allow access to websites. At the time of this article, Event Websites are still not accessible via iPhones. Look to Photoconia to announce when they, too, are HTML + JavaScript.

Image Downloads - 2 License Agreements For Your Customers |
If you desire, you can sell a full-resolution image download through your Printroom store. When your customers are in their shopping carts and you have sold an image download, Printroom provides a link to a license agreement that protects you and Printroom from misuse of the downloaded file.

For instance, Printroom is not involved with rights-released images. They do not have any way to make sure you have model releases from everyone in your image and they need to make sure the image will not be used commercially. As a result, Printroom provides image downloads with two license agreements--one for personal use and the other for editorial use. (Click to read the actual license agreements--which are subject to change in the future.)

It's Here - A New Shopping Cart View for Your Customers |
Printroom is developing a new optional expanded thumbnail view for your customers.
(Phototoconia, August 18 and updated December 4, 2009) Look for a new dynamic crop option in your Printroom store that will allow your customers to better crop the images in their shopping cart. Your customers will be able to zoom in and pan out--or even move the image around with their cursors. This will give them the ability to create the exact crop they desire.
Look for this option to be added to your store somewhere in early January, 2010.

Update (photoconia 1/21/2010) The new "User Experience" (UE) is now available. You can choose to offer it by logging into your online store, clicking "Global Defaults," then clicking the "View & Print Option" tab. Select "Flash Product Configurator" and be sure to click the "Submit" button at the bottom of the page to save your changes.

"Compatibility Mode" Isn't Compatible
(Photoconia - November 24, 2009) Printroom has noticed a potential annoyance for PC users using Windows 7. It turns out a setting in Windows 7 called "compatibility mode" can prevent Pro Studio Manager from working properly.
This mode can be erroneously selected by a user when installing Windows 7 since the message presented to a user by Windows 7 is quite cryptic--maybe even misleading. As long as "compatibility mode" has not been specified, all programs function without problems. (click "Read More" for remainder of article)
