PSM and Windows 7 Issue

"Compatibility Mode" Isn't Compatible

(Photoconia - November 24, 2009)  Printroom has noticed a potential annoyance for PC users using Windows 7.  It turns out a setting in Windows 7 called "compatibility mode" can prevent Pro Studio Manager from working properly.  

This mode can be erroneously selected by a user when installing Windows 7 since the message presented to a user by Windows 7 is quite cryptic--maybe even misleading.  As long as "compatibility mode" has not been specified, all programs function without problems. Luckily, if you need a fix, it's simple. If you are using Windows 7 and want to verify you (correctly) are not running in "compatibility mode," just right click your mouse button over your PSM icon.

Look for "Properties" and click on it.

To resolve this problem, make sure that the check box ‘Run this program in compatibility mode’ is unchecked (and click OK if needed to save any changes).

Printroom regularly updates both the Mac and PC versons of Pro Studio Manager so this issue may only be applicable to early users of  Windows 7.
